Centex Homes voted

April 21, 2005, Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Myrtle Beach’s largest homebuilder, Centex Homes, has been voted “Most Admired Big Builder” for the second straight year by its competitors. Centex Homes also won four first place awards and one second place award, outperforming all other builders in the 2004 awards competition.
The APEX Awards are presented by Hanley Wood, the leading business-to-business media company serving the housing and construction industry. Winners were chosen by the readers of Hanley Wood magazines Big Builder and Builder. The nation’s 100 largest builders competed for the awards.
“When your competitors vote you the ‘most admired builder,’ it’s quite a recommendation,” said Mike Wyatt, Centex Homes Myrtle Beach Division president. “Our division is extremely proud to be a part of a company that is so focused on quality, affordability and operational excellence. We do our best every day to deliver homes along the Grand Strand that exceed expectations, so it’s nice to receive recognition for those efforts.”

In addition to “Most Admired Builder,” Centex Homes received the following awards:
First Place, Leadership and Management
First Place, Operational Excellence & Management
First Place, Delivering Affordable Housing
First Place, Training and Development
Second Place, Innovative Product & Design.

“Centex Homes are based on state-of-the-art engineering and building science with a constant eye towards energy efficiency and long-term durability, without breaking the bank,” said Wyatt. “Day after day, it’s our job to bring the Grand Strand the best value in housing — and we do.”
