Oswego, IL - SMT Golf announced that their Babylon driver made its LPGA Tour debut recently. Lee Ann Walker-Cooper put an SMT Babylon driver into play at The Takefugi Classic this past weekend in Las Vegas. Cooper, fully exempt on the LPGA Tour this season, just recently picked up the Babylon driver but was so pleased by its performance that she decided to put it into play right away for the event.
Lee Ann is the most recent Tour Professional to put an SMT club into play this season. Currently, SMT has several players on the PGA, Nationwide, European, Futures and LPGA Tours using their clubs in competition. SMT's Spectrum driver is "The Longest Driver On Any PGA Tour" averaging 330.9 yards and SMT equipment is currently being used by Tour Players like Chip Beck, Victor Schwamkrug, Keoke Cotner, David Higgins, and Rex Caldwell to name a few.
"The LPGA Tour is really starting to heat up for us right now," stated SMT President, Mike Tait. "We're working on drivers for about a dozen players and I expect that the interest will only increase as more of the Tour Pros learn about us. We've seen similar growth like this on the Nationwide and European Tours. As soon as one of these Tour Pros puts our driver into their bag and starts hitting it past their playing partners, the phone starts ringing off the hook and everybody wants us to make them a driver. It's exciting and we expect to get a lot more play on the Professional Tours this year."
