Oswego, IL-- SMT Golf's O2 driver will be the weapon of choice for Brent Maddox as he pursues his childhood dream. Brent, a 25 year old alumni of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Morgan County (Decatur, Alabama) is chasing the dream of playing professional golf on the PGA Tour.

Brent got his start playing golf in Prattville, Alabama. But didn't start playing at an early age as most other aspiring PGA professionals do. As a matter of fact, he didn't pick up a golf club until he was almost sixteen. Amazingly, Brent played his first round of golf with a half cast on his right hand and shot in the high 80's. Not playing high school or any form of organized golf until your senior year is an exteme dissadvantage in pursuing the dream of playing professionally some day. But surrounding himself with the kind of people he has, in The Boys and Girls Club, has given him the advantage he needs to make his dream come true.

While in Decatur Brent was involved with The Boys & Girls Club. He volunteered and participated in their Just Golf Junior Golf program. "The Junior program was the turning point of my golf career." said Brent. The program was designed for beginners to intermediate players but after the first day of instruction Mike Greer, the Teaching professional took notice, and said" This kid has more natural talent than just about any kid I have ever seen." Mike and Brent worked together that summer and in 12 play dates Brent's scoring average for 18 holes was 70.16. After two try-outs with two different Colleges Brent received a full Scholarship to Life University in Atlanta, GA.

"This organization has been so very good to me, I hope that someday I can repay this debt." Brent said as he signed his letter of agreement in the board room of the Boys & Girls Club of Decatur.

Today, Brent is chasing his dream by participating in the LDA (Long Drivers of America) Tour and playing on both the Hooters & Gateway Pro Golf Tours. Brent plays SMT's O2 drivers on the Mini

Tours and uses SMT's 455 Deep Bore driver in Long Drive Competition. To date Brent has not placed on the Mini Tours but he did place first in the Dothan LDA local qualifier with a drive of 404 yards.

"Hardwork and determination is in his blood," says Mike Tait, president of SMT Golf. "In the short time I've known Brent he has greatly impacted my life with the generosity and passion he applies to everything he does. We're proud to be a part of this young man's dream to play golf on the PGA Tour. Regardless of where he ends up, his talents on and off the course will make him a true winner in the eyes of everyone he has come in contact with over the years."
