FORT WORTH, Texas – After already earning an impressive number of Top 10 finishes in the early stages of the Fall Finish, United Sports Technologies (UST®) garnered top honors this week as the ‘No. 1 Graphite Shaft’ in the 84 Lumber Classic at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Penn.
According to the industry-acclaimed Darrell Survey reports, UST-branded graphite shafts were the most popular graphite shafts among PGA Tour pros. The survey totalled 68 graphite shafts — designed and manufactured by UST — were in play during competition, followed by respected shaft manufacturers Graphite Design, Fujikura and Aldila finishing off the top four contenders.
“We’re very excited to once again be the No. 1 shaft on Tour,” says Gene Simpson, vice president of marketing and sales for UST® brands. “As a part of a multi-brand strategy, we’ve worked hard to provide unique, premium graphite shaft lines that maintain individual, distinct characteristics that fit players’ swings rather than making players adjust to the shafts. I think the Tour pros are recognizing our commitment to swing optimization and they’re achieving the performance benefits they want. Obviously, we’re happy they’re happy.”
Breaking down UST’s totals at the 84 Lumber Classic, the winning shaft brand count included 29 ACCRA® premium shafts, 16 Harmon Tour Design (HTD®) shafts, 14 IROD® hybrid shafts and nine Proforce® shafts.
