Oswego, IL - SMT Golf's new 303MB irons have been awarded an Honorable Mention for Best Appearance in Pub Links Golfer Magazine's annual "Player's Choice" awards. The 2005 "Player's Choice" awards represent the overall ratings from volunteer amateur golfers who test the equipment on the range and on the course. Twenty-two sets of irons from all major manufacturers were tested and graded in six different categories.
The SMT 303MB Irons captured Honorable Mention in the Appearance Category and ranked near the top in the Overall Performance rating just being edged out by companies like Taylormade, Callaway and Wilson Golf. The categories judged are Best Appearance, Best Feel, Most Forgiving, Most Consistent, Best Distance and Best Value to come up with the club or clubs with the Best Overall rating. The amateurs testing ranked the clubs in the different categories on a scale of 1 to 10. The results are then averaged and scored in each of the categories as well as an Overall Rating.
"The Pub Links Golfer Magazine Player's Choice awards mean a great deal to golf manufacturers because the testing is done by the every day amateur golfer, a player who does not hit the ball perfect every time.
