(OVERLAND PARK, Kansas) – PeakVision Sports – maker of sunglasses designed specifically for golfers and featuring patented Dual-Zone technology in its 100-percent, distortion-free lenses – has announced it has signed PGA TOUR player Billy Andrade and Champions Tour player Bruce Fleisher to endorsement agreements deals for 2005 and 2006.
Andrade and Fleisher will wear PeakVision sunglasses exclusively during all on-course activities, and will lend their names and likeness to selected off-course promotional programs. Both players will also promote PeakVision sunglasses on www.peakvisionsports.com and in other marketing initiatives and collateral materials.
A four-time winner on the PGA TOUR and hot off a solid performance at the Ford Championship at Doral in which he was the second round leader, Andrade is the author of an impressive streak of 17 consecutive years ranked in the top 125. The Rhode Island native is widely considered one of the sport’s most popular, gregarious players and is a regular participant in charity and Pro-Am events.
Since joining the Champions Tour in 1999, Fleisher has been one of the senior circuit’s most dominant players. He won “Rookie of the Year” in 1999, and enjoyed a remarkable run of finishing in the top three on the money list from 1999 to 2002. Fleisher’s resume boasts 18 Champions Tour wins, including the 2001 U.S. Senior Open.
“Tour validation is vital to any golf product, and we are excited to have players of Bruce and Billy’s caliber swearing by PeakVision Sports sunglasses,” says Paul Moore, CEO of PeakVision Sports. “PeakVision Sports sunglasses are rapidly being adopted and embraced by the professional golf ranks and by everyday golfers who realize the game improvement that goes with enhanced on-course vision.”
At the Ford Championship at Doral, Andrade was beshaded in PeakVision sunglasses from the first tee box to the 18th green on the Doral Golf Resort and Spa’s famous Blue Monster course. His glasses remained on his face, even as the bright, south Florida sun faded to twilight and the shadows grew longer throughout the course.
“I’ve tried lots of different brands of sunglasses over the years, and I’ve always had to take them off to hit golf shots, “says Andrade. “PeakVision sunglasses are the only glasses that give me a clear picture from tee to green. They protect my eyes on very sunny days and eliminate the squinting and headaches that accompany six hour in the bright sun. They enhance my vision when the weather turns cloudy, and even help me to read nuances in the greens. They have become a vital party of my equipment on the golf course.”
Fleisher, a long-time proponent of proper skin and eye protection from the sun’s harmful rays, was the first player on either Tour to realize the health benefits and game improvement potential offered by PeakVision Sports sunglasses.
“I’ve tried all kinds of sunglasses, but until I discovered PeakVision Sports, I’d never found a pair that I could play golf in,” says Fleisher. “Most of the guys out here are trying these and I don’t think it will be long until you see a lot of us wearing PeakVision.”
In addition to golfers performing at higher levels wearing PeakVision sunglasses, they are also popular among skiers, professional baseball umpires and pilots. For more information, call 888.856-3419, email sales@peakvisionsports.com or visit www.peakvisionsports.com .
About PeakVision Sports
The first major innovation in golfer-sunglass technology in more than 40 years, PeakVision Sports’ high-performance eyewear represents a radical step in optical design and manufacturing. The vast majority of sunglasses since the 1960s have had single-filter, polycarbonate lenses incapable of properly distinguishing between the bright hues of the horizon and sky and the dark hues of terrain and landscape.
A paradigm-shifting breakthrough in sunglass design, PeakVision’s innovative Dual-Zone lenses feature neutral-density gray tinting in the upper zone that reduces glare and allows for accurate distance perception. The amber-tuned color in the lower zone highlights the contours of the green for better reads of putts than with the naked eye. Incorporating these two filters into one lens allows golfers to clearly distinguish between the turf and the sky to create optimal visual acuity.
The material used in PeakVision Sports lenses is a revolutionary optical polymer that offers superior optical clarity and uniformity, scratch resistance, durability and ultra-light weight compared to polycarbonate. This material is the latest technology, originally developed for the windscreens in military helicopters.
The NXT material used in PeakVision Sports lenses is a revolutionary optical polymer that offers superior optical clarity and uniformity, scratch resistance, durability and ultra-light weight compared to polycarbonate. NXT is the latest and finest optical glass that is used in high-end cameras and Apache helicopter windscreens.
PeakVision eyewear also provides 100 percent UV400 protection from the entire spectrum of dangerous UV radiation.
The company recently unveiled four distinct, stylish models: Classic, Chip, Shot and Neva. All men’s and women’s Classic and Chip models are available in six stylish finishes (matte and polished black, matte and polished tortoise, polished graphite and metallic silver) with interchangeable lenses. MSRP: Classic ($129), Chip ($149), Shot ($149), Neva ($139).
