DESTIN, Fla., Sept. 22 -- Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is
operational and open for business as usual, including accommodations, dining,
retail, golf, amenities and services following Hurricane Ivan's arrival to the
Gulf Coast last Thursday morning. The resort incurred no structural damage.
Travelers visiting Sandestin should check their travel plans to confirm
accessibility. The Mid-Bay Bridge, Highway 331 and Highway 98 are open.
Interstate 10 on the west side of Pensacola is closed.
"Our hearts go out to those residents who suffered from Hurricane Ivan's
powerful impact. Fortunately, our location approximately 80 miles from where
the storm made landfall saved us from significant damage," said Mike Stange,
