Myrtle Beach, S.C. — North Carolina magazine has named Rivers Edge Golf Club in Shallotte, N.C. to its “Mighty 90” list. The course received an award of four and half stars.

The rankings were announced in the March issue of North Carolina magazine, which includes its annual Golf Guide.

The North Carolina Magazine Golf Panel is comprised of 135 raters who are allowed to rate only the N.C. courses they have actually played. To determine the state’s Top Courses, panelists rate five elements about each course on a scale of 1 to 5, including course design, condition, pace of play, service and overall rating. The “Top 100” courses are selected based on a points system. Each panelist, based on his/her own opinion and experience at the course, lists the top 30 courses in North Carolina. A set amount of points is given for each number, 1 through 30. The Top 100 is then selected based on the amount of points each course receives.
