McCarron to Endorse PeakVision Sports Performance Eyewear

(OVERLAND PARK, Kansas) – PeakVision Sports – maker of sunglasses designed specifically for golfers and featuring patented Dual-Zone technology in its 100-percent, distortion-free lenses – today announces it has signed PGA TOUR player Scott McCarron to an endorsement agreement for 2005 and 2006.

McCarron’s signing comes on the heels of recent endorsement agreements between PeakVision Sports, PGA TOUR player Billy Andrade and Champions Tour player Bruce Fleisher. McCarron will wear PeakVision sunglasses exclusively during all on-course activities, and will lend his name and likeness to selected off-course promotional programs. He will also promote PeakVision sunglasses on www.PeakVisionSports.com and in other marketing initiatives and collateral materials.

The former UCLA Bruin is a three-time winner on the PGA TOUR, and has notched four victories in full-field, off-season events including three in the Franklin Templeton Shootout. He is off to a solid start in 2005, amassing over $680,000 in winnings and finishing tied for second at the FBR Open in Scottsdale, Ariz. McCarron’s last TOUR victory was at the 2001 Bell South Classic where he posted a three-stroke win over Mike Weir after negotiating 36 holes on the final day.

“We are excited to have a talent like Scott, who is respected by his peers and by fans of the game, wearing PeakVision Sports sunglasses during competitive events on the PGA TOUR,” says Scott Berg, President of PeakVision Sports. “PeakVision Sports sunglasses are rapidly being adopted and embraced by the professional golf ranks and by everyday golfers who realize the game improvement that goes with enhanced on-course vision.”

McCarron developed his love and appreciation of the game, ironically, by taking an extended hiatus. After graduating from UCLA in the late 80s, he gave up golf for four years to work in the family clothing business. His competitive spirit was rekindled in 1991 while watching a Senior Tour event in his hometown of Rancho Murieta, Calif. A number of players were using putters with extended handles, and McCarron went home that night and built his own “long putter.” His new flatblade and putting stroke led to near-victory in the U.S. Mid-Amateur later that year. Inspired by his performance, McCarron “retired” from the clothing business in 1992 to pursue his professional career. He joined the PGA TOUR in 1995.

“Growing up playing golf in Central and Southern California, I have an understanding and appreciation for the power of the sun and the damage caused by its harmful rays, “says McCarron. “PeakVision sunglasses not only protect my eyes from irreversible damage, they enhance my vision on the course and enable me to perform better. With my professional livelihood on the line, I have finally found high performance eyewear that isn’t relegated to the top of my hat or visor during the important shots.”

In addition to golfers performing at higher levels wearing PeakVision sunglasses, they are also popular among skiers, professional baseball umpires and pilots. For more information, call 888.856-3419, email sales@peakvisionsports.com or visit www.peakvisionsports.com .

About PeakVision Sports

The first major innovation in golfer-sunglass technology in more than 40 years, PeakVision Sports’ high-performance eyewear represents a radical step in optical design and manufacturing. The vast majority of sunglasses since the 1960s have had single-filter, polycarbonate lenses incapable of properly distinguishing between the bright hues of the horizon and sky and the dark hues of terrain and landscape.

A paradigm-shifting breakthrough in sunglass design, PeakVision’s innovative Dual-Zone lenses feature neutral-density gray tinting in the upper zone that reduces glare and allows for accurate distance perception. The spectrally-tuned amber color in the lower zone highlights the contours of the green for better reads of putts than with the naked eye. Incorporating these two filters into one lens balances the lighting extremes and provides decreased eye fatigue, optimal visual acuity and enhanced speed of perception.

The material used in PeakVision Sports lenses is a revolutionary optical polymer that offers superior optical clarity and uniformity, scratch resistance, durability and ultra-light weight compared to polycarbonate. This material is the latest technology, originally developed for the windscreens in military helicopters.

PeakVision eyewear provides 100 percent UV400 protection from the entire spectrum of dangerous UV radiation.

The company recently unveiled four distinct, stylish models: Classic, Chip, Shot and Neva. All men’s and women’s Classic and Chip models are available in six stylish finishes (matte and polished black, matte and polished tortoise, polished graphite and metallic silver) with interchangeable lenses. MSRP: Classic ($129), Chip ($149), Shot ($149), Neva ($139).
