On my lunch break I get the good fortune to watch my favorite player, Ernie Els, and his group play 17. Els does the near impossible. He overcooks one and it lands ON THE FLY on the walkway...a sliver-thin, one person-wide causeway and it stays up. Ernie looks around chagrined and shaking his head with a slightly frustrated grin on his face.
Lee Janzen steps up next...and does the exact same thing...his actually lands in the middle of the causeway, runs down the cartpath (down the cartpath!!!)and stays up about 2/3 of the way down. Now everybody is justifiably freaked. That's just spooky...even with a back left pin. What are the odds of that happening...twice...back to back...
Live at the 17th is here.
This is the best hole in public golf and we can all play it. Its your chance to catch a pass at the Rose Bowl or take batting practice in Fenway Park. Try Jacksonville Golfor Florida Golf Guidefor more info.
I love this week. This oughtta be a major.
