Shula's golf tourney to benefit Hospice

MIAMI, Fla (Sept 20, 2004)- Don Shula is conducting a golf tournament to benefit the patients and families of Catholic Hospice.

The Steak House eighth annual Swinging Fore Charity Golf Tournament will take place at 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at Don Shula's Golf Club, 7601 Miami Lakes Dr.

Honorary co-chairman for the event will be WFOR-CBS 4 meteorologist Bob Soper. The golf registration fee also includes a cocktail reception, awards ceremony and silent auction following the tournament.

The event is a major fundraiser for Catholic Hospice, a nonprofit healthcare organization providing end-of-life care to terminally ill patients and their families throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

Currently, the organization has a team of 200 hospice volunteers that provide companionship, run errands and help families cope with terminal illness.

The tournament registration fee is $175 per player and $650 for a foursome. It includes lunch, beverages, greens fees, cart, goody bag, shirt, cocktail reception and prizes. Sponsorships of all levels are available.
