The grand opening was attended Thursday March 17th , as was the preceding vendor / media night, by Volvik's Georgia independent sales representative Jim Vogl and Director of Corporate Communications Glen Coombe.

Green Volvik Crystal golf balls were distributed to the first few customers to enter the new sixty-thousand square foot golf retail store in honor the St. Patrick's Day opening.

Opening day ceremonies were presided over by Golf and Tennis Pro Shop, Inc. President Bill Hamlin, as well as dignitaries from local government. Hamlin and crew cut a ceremonial ribbon between two golf cars, then raised a giant Stars and Stripes followed by the PGA Tour flag on a massive flag staff, signaling the opening of the newest location.

Coombe said, "The slogan 'this is big' certainly isn't overstated. Upon entering the new location it's hard to imagine all the work that has gone into the former supermarket location. Golfers will experience a true customer first experience at PGA Tour Superstores. Selection is the key to the experience as it seems most all of the major players in golf equipment and apparel are represented at this new location. Golfers will be able to work with PGA Professionals in five simulators as well as launch monitors, short game areas, and putting areas to select the right equipment for their game. A large repair and custom club assembly area round out the total golf experience."
