AccuFLEX Golf introduces long drive shaft

Gastonia, NC, September 25, 2004 -- AccuFLEX Golf announced today the introduction of the ICON LD 50“ Long Drive shaft. AccuFLEX ICON series Tour shafts have earned nine PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tour wins including three major championships since May of 2002. AccuFLEX Golf proudly brings its top of the line series to pro Long Drive competitors in time for next month‘s ReMax World Long Drive Championships in Mesquite, Nevada.

“We at AccuFLEX are delighted to introduce the ICON LD,” AccuFLEX president Jody Baucom began. “Although we have had a lot of success and earned 12 major Long Drive titles over the past two seasons with our PRO LD and ASSASSIN series Long Drive shafts, we felt that it was time to bring out an ICON shaft to the pro Long Drive circuit.

The ICON LD will be similar in weight to our very successful PRO LD shaft but will be more stable from a flex standpoint. We have also incorporated a little more torque than is in either our PRO LD or ASSASSIN and ASSASSIN 2 shafts, which is a trend many of the top competitors in the sport seem to be following. Mike Gorton’s record-setting win at last month’s LDA Tour Championship was accomplished with our recently
introduced, 4.0 torque ANIMAL LD shaft.

More torque means more kick and we think that our new ICON LD offers a more stable shaft with the same 'silky smooth' feel of the PRO LD. With the ICON LD we have used our A2 advanced design composite to give long drivers the best of both worlds (control and distance). Those competitors who choose the ICON LD will be giving themselves a tremendous advantage heading into next month’s ReMax World Long Drive Championships.”
