Golf Equipment means Free Entertainment

March 18, 2005 – If you're looking for a lot of laughs and giggles, then all you have to do is stop by any store that sells golf equipment. Whether it's a pro shop at a public golf course or one of these so-called "discounters," you'll be laughing so hard that your insides will hurt.

All you have to do is overhear a typical conversation between some well-intentioned customer and the salesperson, who 99% of the time doesn't know their ass from a Yonex driver. They give bad information which effects the consumer's choice of equipment and they always are trying to "up sell." They don't give a damn whether or not graphite is what your game needs. They want you to buy graphite because it simply costs more....and they make a few bucks more.

If you stand there long enough, you'll overhear some of the most ridiculous and stupid reasons that are given why the consumer should use this or that. "Oh, what kind of ball should I be using?" Bet your bottom dollar that the salesperson will reply, "Well these Pro-V's at $45 a dozen are selling like hot cakes and all of the Tour players love them!" Are you getting my drift? The bottom line is these people could give a damn less about your golf game and really care less about helping you. They want the BIG sale, baby. So next time you venture into a golf store to buy whatever, do yourself a favor and walk around awhile and try and overhear the closest sales pitch that's going on and you'll probably start laughing so hard that you'll forget what you came in there for.....and you'll be better off for it!
