MADISON, WI. – March 16, 2005 – Laser Link Golf has announced that for the second year in a row, the company will be a sponsor of the Tavistock Cup, held March 28-29 at Isleworth Country Club in Orlando, FL.
Just the same as last year, each player will be allowed to use the QuickShot handheld laser rangefinder from Laser Link Golf during the competition. “The feedback from players last year was just tremendous,” said Rob O’Loughlin, President of Laser Link Golf. “To get such an overwhelmingly positive response from the top players in the world is just validation for something that we already knew – the Laser Link Distance System is the fastest, easiest, and most accurate way to find the distance to the flagstick. Having accurate measurements is extremely important to these players, and they know they can trust the Laser Link Distance System.”
The Tavistock Cup is an interclub event like no other. The competition pits the best players from Isleworth Country Club against the best players from Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, both Orlando area private clubs. Top players from the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, and European Tour, will battle it out over the two days of competition. Last year’s field included Annika Sorenstam, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Mark O’Meara, Stuart Appleby, and a host of other top names. This year appears to have a similarly star-studded field. “We look forward to having another top field for our second Tavistock Cup,” said Alex Martins, Vice President of Sports Ventures for the Tavistock Group. “And we are thrilled to have the Laser Link Distance System as the Official Distance Measurement System of the Tavistock Cup.”
Tune in to see the Tavistock Cup, and the Laser Link Distance System, March 28-29 on The Golf Channel. A full television schedule is available at www.tavistockcup.com.
About Laser Link Golf
Laser Link Golf is the producer of the Laser Link Distance System, the revolutionary distance measurement system designed specifically for golf. It’s a laser-based system that utilizes two components – a handheld rangefinder and a flagstick-based reflector – to determine the exact distance to the flagstick.
The System is designed to speed up play and add enjoyment to the game, and its combination of speed, accuracy, and affordability is unmatched. It is in use at more than 500 private clubs around the country, and several more daily fee courses. Laser Link Golf is based in Madison, WI, and is owned and operated by many of the same individuals that started SoftSpikes. They are involved in Laser Link Golf for the same reason they got involved in SoftSpikes – both are good for the game.
