March 9, 2005 – I for one am sick and tired about hearing how much money the Tour is giving to charity. No one is saying that giving money to charities is a bad thing, but the Tour also does it for another important reason: it makes them LOOK GOOD!

The Tour is a business, pure and simple. They need to do whatever to make the bottom line and the charity angle is a great way. If they were not identified with popular causes, all of the top brass at the Tour office would not make the money they do, would not get the perks they do and they would not be able to continue to feel as important as they are. Just look at the Commissioner. I rest my case!
