Osher Marin's inaugural tourney set for Oct. 18

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (September 16, 2004) - Osher Marin Jewish Community Center will host its first golf tournament fundraiser on October 18, 2004 which will benefit the JCC's scholarship funds. It will take place at the exclusive Meadow Club in Fairfax and will include 18 holes of tournament play, lunch, contests, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and both a live and silent auction.

"This will be a really spectacular event for an excellent cause," said Steve Isaacs, Chairman of the Golf Committee.

"The scholarship fund enables the Osher Marin JCC to offer financial assistance to kids in its preschool and summer camp programs. JCC will also be able to offer bus transportation for seniors to attend events at the Center, reduced fitness memberships for low-income people and scholarships for teen programs. It's my honor and privilege to spearhead this very worthwhile cause."

The Osher Marin JCC is a place where people can enhance their lives through various activities that reflect the unique values of Jewish history and culture. People can use JCC’s award-winning pools and exercise facilities. They also conduct educational programs, world-class performing arts series, have an early child education center and many other programs.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event will be comedian Chris Voth, who has appeared on the television show "Last Comic Standing" and performs regularly at San Francisco's Punchline comedy club. "The best part of my golf game is raking sand traps," said Voth.

Many premium items will be available at the auction, including a private tour of Pixar Animation Studios, a "behind the scenes" look at the Ronn Owens Show on KGO radio, a signed Olympic hat from Olympic gold medallist Michael Phelps, and an overnight stay in a private villa at the new Lodge at CordeValle.

Tickets are $275 per player, which includes tournament play, lunch, contests, hors d'oeuvres, and dinner at the live auction.

Spouses and friends are welcome to attend the dinner auction for $75 per person.
