ORLANDO – March 2, 2005 – Things were POPping for Accu-Length at this year's PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando both in the movement and the display of the revolutionary new product.
First there were the sales of the Accu-Length Expandable Pro Quality Junior Golf Club System, which were outstanding from the moment the Show opened on Thursday morning until its closing on Sunday afternoon. The company, making its official debut at the Show, garnered many new accounts. It also received strong industry acclaim for the uniqueness of its one-of-a-kind Spacer Technology, which allows the clubs to grow as the child grows. The industry recognizes that Accu-Length is the first and only golf clubs designed to grow with your child. Finally, as the icing on the cake, Accu-Length was voted the "Best New Product" of the show in the highly competitive equipment category.
"We have worked a long time to bring Accu-Length to the children's club market and to make the product and everything surrounding it to be right. It's clear from our results in Orlando that the wait was worthwhile," says Rick Rutter, President, COO and Co-Founder of On-Track Sports, LLC., of Leawood, Kansas, the parent company of Accu-Length. "We are the hottest new thing in junior golf, period."
Sales were strong not only in the basic Accu-Length Starter Set System, which comes in four various-sized models to meet the needs of all junior golfers, but also in the company's additional new line of individual clubs, led by the distance-popping Accu-Length driver.
"We have added a variety of new individual clubs and drivers which the market has asked for, but what really sets us apart, outside of our core technology, is our branding," says Rutter. "We have a highly unique and effective merchandising system that was designed to support the retail sales of these new products."
Every individual club comes with an attached, 4 color hanger/box. The box not only acts as a hanger for the clubs onto our branded peg hooks, but also houses a mini DVD ($29.99 retail value included with each club!) with training from Rudy Duran, Tiger Woods' first coach. Also included in each box are four spacers for each club , extra tools, locking pins, measuring chart and other special offers. Retailers who purchase the required minimums will receive a variety of merchandising tools to make their "Accu-Length Store" really drive sales and profits. Those tools include slat wall signage, branded peg hooks, shelvingand floor displays with branded top signs.
"We feel like we have better POP than the brands that have been around for years," says Rutter. "We support retailers of all sizes with the tools to sell!
"We know that many junior golf clubs end up near the back of the store or in the close-out section," adds Rutter. "Our goal is to bring real excitement and innovative technological improvement to the junior equipment market. Our retailers get a better looking store front and better profits, while the consumer gets a custom fit, professional quality club that lasts for multiple seasons. Now that is a true win-win.
Retailers who attended the PGA Merchandise Show agree with that assessment. "Accu-Length is one of the smartest, thought out clubs I've ever seen. It makes sense for both parents and kids," says Jim Pooler of Cal's Caddyshack in Costa Mesa, CA.
"It's a very innovative product and a great value for parents," adds Jerry Whalen of Fiddlers Green in Eugene, Or. "It's great to finally see a club that grows with the junior golfer."
