March 2, 2005 – Balance-Certified Golf, Inc. has released a series of Launch Monitor test results that independently verify that their proprietary Pro-Balance golf club weighting system can significantly improve distance off the tee. When applied to the driver, 83.3% of all golfers tested resulted in increased distance and performance. "We make every club better" has proven itself to be true in ways that have far exceeded the company's expectations.
President and CEO Jeff Lindner said, "These results prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Balance-Certified's systems can help golfers of all abilities achieve more performance, more control, and more distance out of today's high tech drivers. We continue to routinely document an average increase of 5 mph in ball speed and 5 to 30 yards in distance.
"We have known for quite a while that we could enhance Tour level golfers' performance, but now with these new test results obtained from golfers with handicaps in the 2 to 25 range, we expect to have a real impact on everyone's game. The launch monitor numbers are very impressive but a major key to achieving measurable results is the process of determining the optimum amount of weight. Our fitters use a certified process we have defined as 'Motion Balancing.'™ Without the optimization process, club balancing is like hoping to win the lottery."
VP of sales and co-founder of the company John Cranston said, "We originally brought this technology to the Tours in 1999. Since then, most of my focus has been on improving putters. However, I now find myself splitting time almost 50/50 between the putting and driving practice areas. Drivers are the next club we are focusing on. With these kinds of results, there is no reason in the world for golfers to believe that we 'only' optimize putters. For the average golfer to have an increase in performance like this means that your weekend warrior can reach new milestones in distance and accuracy off the tee, a key area for better scoring."
An in-depth launch monitor test series was run for 18 golfers to evaluate every possible variable that Balance-Certified's system could affect. Golfer swing speeds varied from 86 to 135 mph while handicaps ranged from 2 to 24. Fifteen of the 18 golfers realized significant improvements in distance while three golfers observed no measurable change. Statistically, 83.3% of the golfers increased driving distance. Balance-Certified's products work in all manufacturer's clubs; thus several different make drivers were used during the test series.
The average distance increase and ball speed increase was16.03 yards and 5.10 mph respectively. Interestingly, average swing speed did not change. However, the average efficiency for the standard un-balanced club was 1.358 while the Balance-Certified enhanced club's efficiency was 1.408. This clearly indicates that the Balance-Certified optimized club transfers momentum more effectively than the non-optimized club. To insure accurate results, all data acquisition and test procedures were monitored and reviewed by independent test consultant Gary Mayes of Equip2Golf, Inc.
