March 1, 2005 – Want to know what pisses off The Rebel? It's these asinine towns that call themselves golf destinations when they are not. There is hardly a bigger blow hole in the US than Santee, South Carolina. This joint is in the middle of Myrtle Beach and Columbia, South Carolina. It is to golf destinations what Phyliss Diller is to super modeling.

The folks at the Santee Chamber of Commerce and Golf Santee actually attend golf shows all up and down The Coast each year preaching the good word of Santee.

Grab your bibs, your overalls and your chew-in tobbacco. They advertise 16 "quality" golf courses that few architects would want to have their name near. The courses are low end, poorly designed and totally low budget. But, they ARE cheap. Then again, so is Schlitz. So is Pabst Blue Ribbon. Yes, there are people who want to drink piss water. It's cheap. And Santee is cheap. The local strip joint is cheap, too. The women have been hearded in from the trailer park and the men get clothes pins attached to their noses. In fact, it may be the only "golf destination" where you get a can of Lysol with your free beer coupon on the way to the strip joint.

The girls are indeed cheap as is the golf.

I would rather take my hacks in my parking lot.
