Feb. 23, 2005 – Shell Landing Golf Club, a Davis Love III designed course on Mississippi's "Golf Coast," received the National Golf Course Owners Association's Chapter "Golf Course of the Year" Award at the 2005 Golf Industry Show in Orlando, Florida. This award judges the courses exceptional quality, exceptional quality of ownership, outstanding contribution to its community and significant contribution to the game.
"Shell Landing received this award in 2003, so it is no surprise that it again was recognized," says Kevin Drum, executive director of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Golf Association and the Gulf Coast Chapter of the NGCOA, "The award means a lot because it is recognition by your pears in the industry, and that is why it is given out at The Golf Industry Show."

The Golf Industry Show was held February 7 -12 in Orlando in conjunction with education conferences from the National Golf Course Owners Association and the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America. This is the first year these two organizations converged and this, combined with the support of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, Golf Course Builders Association of America and the National Golf Foundation, made this the place to be if you built, owned, maintained or managed a golf course. The 2006 Golf Industry Show will be held in New Orleans in February. For more information on The Golf Industry Show go to www.golfindustryshow.com.
