OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (Sept 14, 2004) - Peak Vision Sports has launched their inaugural line of golf specific performance eyewear that is getting rave reviews from PGA Tour players, broadcasting personalities and everyday golfers.
"It all started with a pretty simple question" says J. Paul Moore, inventor of the Peak Vision Dual Zone Lens, "Why do so many golfers wear their $200 sunglasses on their hat?"
According to Moore, golfers have two problems with sunglasses.
First, a single color lens just can't meet the demands of both the bright sky and darker terrain. A gray lens reduces discomfort from glare and retains distance perception, but also flattens contours making it difficult to get a good read on the green. An amber lens will highlight contours on a green surface, but does not provide relief from bright sky and destroys depth perception.
Second, the manufacturing process used to create the majority of plastic lenses in today's sunglasses is 40 years old. It produces lenses with significant optical distortion! That's why you can't read the your scorecard! with most sunglasses!
To address these problems, Moore invented and patented a revolutionary Dual Zone lens with neutral density gray at the top to manage glare, maintain distance perception, and amber at the bottom of the lens to highlight the contours of the green.
"Then I found a new polymer for the lenses that offers perfect optical clarity, is shatterproof and significantly more scratchproof than all other sunglasses out there today!" says Moore.
Peak Vision’s lenses provide 100% protection from UV radiation. Moore adds, "Golfers really need to wear UV protection on their eyes, because they have twice the incidence of UV related eye diseases as the general population."
Champions Tour Player, Bruce Fleisher, is an avid supporter of these sunglasses, "I've tried all kinds of sunglasses, but until I discovered Peak Vision’s Dual Zone, I'd never found a pair that I could play golf in."
Peak Vision specializes in performance enhancing eyewear that is individually designed for specific sports. Many frames even allow for the lenses to be changed if you are going from golf season on into the skiing season! . Whether you golf, ski, or pilot an aircraft, Peak Vision Sports has a lens designed just for you.
