Robert Griffith to hosts his 8th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic

Feb. 19, 2005 – Robert Griffith has established himself as one of the best defensive backs in his 11th season in the NFL. His greatest feat however, has been in the success of the Robert Griffith Foundation and the impact he has made on the lives of young people. The Foundation currently has 22 deserving students attending college on 4-year renewable scholarships. With the success of the upcoming Golf Classic, he would like to send another 5 students in 2005.

Tournament Outline:

·Format - 30 fivesomes, made-up of 4 sponsor guests or individual entrants, and 1 celebrity. A fun and relaxed golf outing for male and female golfers of all levels of playing ability - whether with customers, employees, friends or family, you are ensured of an enjoyable day of golf. Hole prizes, contests for skill and luck, teams prizes, raffle and door prize drawings, putting contests, free use of the practice facilities, breakfast, luncheon and much more will make this a memorable day.

· Costs - $1,500 per foursome includes one foursome entry into the tournament with a celebrity, continental breakfast, barbecue buffet lunch, one (1) hole sign, and gift bag for all golfers. Single entry $250.00 and includes 18 holes, continental breakfast, buffet lunch and golf gift bag.

·Celebrities - Past participants include Cris Carter, Robert Smith, Daunte Culpepper, Matthew Hatchette, Dennis Green, Dorsey Levens, Jerome Bettis, Terrell Owens, Orlando Pace, Yancey Thigpen, Terrell Davis, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, Tommy Ford, Victoria Rowell, Bruce Smith, Lorenz Tate, Salli Richardson, John Salley, Alonzo Mourning, Randy Moss, Mariano Duncan, Malik Yoba, Tichina Arnold, Tisha Campbell, Duane Martin, as well as many other national sports, entertainment and media celebrities. Confirmed celebrity list will be available by February 15, 2005.

·Host Golf Course - The 6,400 yard course meanders through an upscale residential community, presenting the golfer with panoramic mountain views. Since no two holes adjoin each other, golfers feel they have the course to themselves. Carmel Mountain Ranch is a true shotmaker’s course with elevation changes, strategic choices and fast undulating greens. Designed by Ron Fream, the course has hosted U.S. Open qualifying, the San Diego Open qualifying and many local events.

·Overview of Previous Celebrity Events – For the past 8 years the Robert Griffith Foundation has hosted the Celebrity Scholarship Weekend in San Diego. The weekend’s events include a celebrity basketball game, free block party, golf tournament, comedy concert, and a pairings party. This event is the largest celebrity event to take place yearly in the city. The last event bought in over 40 athletes and entertainers and raised in excess of $100,000 for scholarships for deserving youth. Our efforts to create a memorable experience resulted in the celebrities expressing one common theme: “This is the most fun we’ve had at any celebrity event ever!” Over the three-day event, major media exposure was generated through KGTV, BET, ESPN and the Football Network.

·Sponsors - Past corporate sponsors of the Robert Griffith Foundation Celebrity Scholarship Weekend have included some the nation’s most prestigious companies and organizations. The list includes, but not limited to American Airlines, Tangueray, Courvoisier, Eller Media, Cox Communications, Solomon Smith Barney, Kraft Foods, Pizza Hut, Wittnauer Watches, Sprint, Titleist, Ticketmaster, Fosters Beer, BET, ESPN the Magazine, Rainbow Foods, Terry Manufacturing, Oracle, Harloff BMW, and Nike.
