Michelle McGann Fund established to help benefit diabetes sufferers

Professional golfer and Palm Beach County native Michelle McGann has established the Michelle McGann Fund at the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

While McGann is one of the most recognized female athletes with nine (9) professional wins on the LPGA tour and in international competition, her biggest challenge has been battling Type 1 Diabetes since being diagnosed at age 13. She has overcome the disease through constant medical care and the use of an insulin pump which she must wear during play.

While her 20 years on the LPGA tour has ranked her in the top 50 all-time money earners, she has also raised millions, and personally spent thousands of hours benefiting numerous diabetes awareness causes. The establishment of the Michelle McGann Fund at the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties will help McGann continue to further the important efforts of organizations dedicated to diabetes awareness causes. In addition, the Michelle McGann Fund will be dedicated to serving underprivileged children with diabetes.
