Feb. 14, 2005 – Sports Media Group publishes its first golf novel, Open Season, by veteran golf writer and photographer Jim Moriarty. With twenty years of inside-the-ropes experience, Moriarty renders a heart-thumping thriller that combines a look behind the scenes at professional golf with a murder mystery sure to please the who-dunnit fan. His work has appeared in Golf Digest, Golf World, Golf Magazine, and Sports Illustrated.
From the back cover of Open Season:
"Golf has been murdering me for more than fifty years, on the course and at the typing machine, so it's time it murders other people, as in Jim Moriarty's fascinating novel. You don't have to be a golfer or a murderer to enjoy this book."
Dan Jenkins, Sportswriter and author of Dead Solid Perfect
"I couldn’t put it down"
Ben Wright
The story line in Open Season begins at The Masters, follows the PGA Tour to Hilton Head, and ends at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst. The launch of the book was planned for March 2005 to give the media plenty of opportunities to interview Moriarty as a timely side-story to these great events.
The book will be in the bookstores in March or can be ordered now by calling 1-877-722-2264. Review copies and contact information for Jim Moriarty can be obtained by contacting Sports Media Group.
