SingleFigureGolfer golfing community announces October launch

This October sees the launch of a golfing community exclusively for players with a handicap of less than 10. Membership cannot be bought; you simply have to be good enough.

SingleFigureGolfer (SFG) will launch its forthcoming national tour for amateur golfers with a preview event at Woodhall Spa, home of the EGU, on October the 7th and 8th.

The SFG tour commencing in spring 2009 is open to anyone with a handicap of less than 10. Players will look to qualify for the national SFG Team, captained by Peter McEvoy OBE, against a team of Ex Ryder, Walker and Solheim Cup players over two days at a leading golf venue.

“A once in a lifetime experience for the amateur golfer” – Peter McEvoy OBE

Players will qualify for the final in 2009 by finishing in the top ten on the order of merit, gaining points at twelve venues throughout the country chosen in order to provide a comprehensive range of challenges and experiences for SFG’s.

In addition to the tour there will be excusive offer, clothing, overseas events and an online community www.singlefiguregolfer.co.uk open to members that is free to join provided their handicap certificate says SFG.

SFG is owned by 2 entrepreneurs (Rob Millar and Paul Heming) and PowerPlay-Golf (founded by Peter McEvoy OBE ex Walker Cup and England Golf captain).

SFG’s will have access to exclusive tournaments, offers, custom-made clothing and travel breaks.

The SFG Tour is the flagship product of the company where players compete in tournaments earning tour points that go towards winning a place within the UK SFG team captained by Peter McEvoy.

Each year the UK SFG team will play against an ‘International Team’ consisting of ex Ryder Cup, Walker Cup and Solheim cup players in a grand finale to the season.

In 2010 the tour will expand to allow individual clubs to host their own SFG events allowing qualification to 10 regional tournaments.

The SFG concept is due for expansion into Europe, South Africa and Australian markets in 2009 with America and India planned in 2010.
