Feb. 10, 2005 – The international presence of SST PURE Shaft Alignment continues to grow with the addition of Surrey-based Precision Golf Ltd. to the SST licensee network. This announcement is the first of more than two-dozen clubmaker licensees that SST plans to open in the coming months.
Founded by PCS certified “Class A” clubmaker James Davey and European golf professional Simon Cooper, Precision Golf offers all golfers state-of-the-art clubfitting, instruction and analysis modeled after the services received by players on the PGA and European Tours.
“I have worked with SST PURE Shaft Alignment in the past, and when it was time to open my own shop there was no question about it,” James said. “SST PURE is a must in building high-performance golf clubs.”
Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft's most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts - steel or graphite - from most major manufacturers. To date, more than 200 players on the PGA Tour have experienced the benefit of SST PURE Shaft Alignment.
"Adding Precision Golf in the Surrey stockbroker belt is a step toward our ultimate goal of making the SST PURE technology available everywhere in the world,” SST founder Dick Weiss said. “Precision Golf joins Fatboy Golf, our existing licensee in the London area, as the premier clubmakers in their respective markets. The technology offered by these two shops makes them the only place for the serious golfer to go.”
Headquartered in Miami, Strategic Shaft Technologies, LC, was founded by Weiss, who was the creator of the SST PURE process. The patented SST PURE process of club assembly - deemed in compliance with USGA standards - locates each shaft's irregularities and aligns the shaft to neutralize them, so that each club bends in the direction it should - straight down the target line. Upon having his shafts SST PURE aligned, a player receives a personalized computer printout confirming the process and an SST PURE shaft label for every shaft that has been PUREd. The SST PURE process of golf shaft alignment is available at SST PURE licensees around the United States and internationally.
