ClubCorp announces its nationwide Charity Classic tournament

The general public is invited to the world’s largest one-day golf tournament and dining event – the ClubCorp Charity Classic – on Friday, September 26, at ClubCorp’s 140 venues located throughout the U.S. Last year ClubCorp’s inaugural event raised more than $1.6 million for charity, and this year’s goal is to top the $5 million mark. Dallas-based ClubCorp is the world leader in private clubs.

Every dollar collected (100%) will be donated to three charities – Muscular Dystrophy Association and two others (see below). ClubCorp is donating all labor and operation expenses to open its doors to anyone looking for a chance to tee off or dine at some of America’s top spots including the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio (site of the World Golf Championships – Bridgestone Invitational); Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California (home of the Kraft Nabisco Championship); and renowned business and business sports clubs such as the Columbia Tower Club in Seattle; Metropolitan Club in Chicago; and the City Club of Washington, D.C.

Golfers will also appreciate the events being held on “prime-time” Friday, not the standard Monday "golf tournament day."
