La Jolla Club Golf Company and Tight Lies Tour to promote junior golf

Vista, CA. – Feb. 9, 2005 – La Jolla Club Golf Company has announced that it has signed on as the “Official Junior Club” of the Tight Lies Tour.

According to Gary DeSerrano, President of Texas Sports Group, Inc., “Junior golf has become a very important part of the Tight Lies Tour and our tournament organizers. Our Junior Clinics have continued to grow each year in not only the number of kids but also the quality of their skills.”

“The Tight Lies Tour has an excellent junior program and we’re very pleased to team up with them to help get kids excited about playing golf,” said Paul Herber, President, La Jolla Club Golf Company. “Partnering with the Tight Lies Tour to help promote their Junior Clinics not only provides us with a great opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Junior Clubs, but also allows us to get involved with young golfers on a grass roots level.”

As part of the partnership, La Jolla Club will co-sponsor 19 Junior Clinics, which take place at the majority of Tight Lies Tour events. During these clinics, La Jolla Club junior clubs will be available for the participants to use. In addition, La Jolla Club will offer special discounts on the purchase of its junior clubs.

“We couldn't be happier to have La Jolla Club join our team as our "Official Junior Club" of the Tight Lies Tour,” continued DeSerrano. “Their club design and fitting system is outstanding. Their clubs are a must have for young golfers and will help them develop the proper skills to be the next Tiger Woods. We are confident that La Jolla will be a huge asset to our tournament organizers and the kids that attend our junior clinics."

La Jolla Club offers junior clubs for ages 2-17 in 7 different sizes and 18 different calibrated shaft options. The company first introduced Super Flexä junior shafts with “2-in-1” combination grips and heads back in 1991. As the shafts get shorter, they are more flexible, unlike cut-down adult shafts.

Triple Notchä shafts have a progressive low kick that address the different shot requirements of woods, utility woods and irons. By casting three “Power Notches” to stiffen the upper half of the shaft, the kick point is dramatically lowered. The lower kick point significantly improves the club’s launch angle and increases club head speed. Improved launch angles promote higher ball flight, while increased club head speeds generate more distance.

The Snoopyä set includes a wood, iron and putter that captures the magic of Snoopy and his Peanutsä friends. A key to Snoopy’s success is its appearance and appeal to kids and parents, and its performance appeals to golf pros. Snoopy is both attractive and functional. The calibrated 25+ mph Super Flex shaft is the perfect shaft to get a junior golfer started the right way. The Snoopy junior sets (wood, iron and putter) are available in right or left-handed, in carry or stand bags, and in two sizes (ages 2-4 and ages 4-6).

The Junior Sets (ages 6-12) are available in three sizes in Super Flex or Triple Notch shafts in combination single clubs: 1/3, 5/7 woods and 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, 9P and S/L irons, and a putter. The Teen Sets (ages 12-17) are available in two sizes in Triple Notch Sets in full 3 wood and 8 iron sets.

The suggested retail price for the Snoopy and Junior sets varies from $69.95 - $199.95. The full set of Teen clubs has a suggested retail price of $350.00.
