Feb. 7, 2005 – Jay Haas remains at the top of the Power Performance Rankings for Champions Tour players after the first two events in 2005. Peter Jacobsen, Tom Watson and Hale Irwin remain in positions two, three and four. Haas must play more Champions Tour events without winning them before he can fall from first place.
Dana Quigley moved up three places, from 19th to 16th, with his recent victory in the Mastercard Championship. Hale Irwin gained points with by claiming the title at Turtle Bay, but he did not overtake Watson or Jacobsen.
Power Performance Rankings rate the Champions Tour players by tournament finish, giving extra points for a victory and double points for majors.
Other changes in the top 20: Gil Morgan up from 10th to 8th; D.A. Weibring down from 8th to 10th; Allen Doyle, up from 16th to 15th; Morris Hatalsky up from 22nd to 18th;
Bruce Lietzke down from 17th to 19th.
Debuting: Keith Fergus in 48th
Biggest fall: John Jacobs, from 23rd to 35th.
Dropped for insufficient points: Dave Eichelberger
