Srixon wins ING Industry Honors Award

ATLANTA – Feb. 3, 2005 – Srixon Sports won the ING Industry Honors Award for 2004 in the category “Print Ad, Consumer, Products” for their Srixon “Possessed” advertisement on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the 2005 PGA Show in Orlando, Florida.

Srixon Sports’ award-winning advertising agency, Fitzgerald + CO, created the “tattoo” campaign for Srixon’s new product introduction in 2004. The first ad of the campaign featured flames tattooed on Srixon’s HR-X333 golf ball, while the winning ad consisted of a skull image tattooed on the golf ball. “Working together with Fitzgerald + CO is always an outside-the-box creative process with the result showing Srixon’s personality and the edgy, passionate, and slight attitude of the brand,” said Mike Pai, Srixon’s Vice President of Marketing and Advertising.

“We've long known that Srixon has the products to go head-to-head with the dominant brand in the category,” said Bob Warren, Fitzgerald + CO’s Creative Director. “Srixon’s advanced technology was the core that helped us to create such a powerful ad. In a product category with so much quality competition, great advertising, and heavy ad spending, it's terrific for Srixon to receive this level of recognition. This is quite an honor,” added Warren.
