Ever wonder what golf would be like if the hole was bigger?
A lot bigger??
Check out Coca-cola Family Course in Northern Germany about 1.5 hours from Berlin.
This one-of-a-kind approach to golf is at the SAS Radisson Fleesensee, a remarkable resort complex complete with everything from spas to ziplines to petting zoos (they have this bunny there that is so big I think it's the offspring of a rabbit mating with a bear).
The resort is great for families. It's the kind of place where you could sneak away from your kids all day for golf and they wouldn't notice.
Or you can bring the little ones along, no matter what age, thanks to their entertaining Coca-Cola Family Course. It's a little 9-hole executive course where most of the holes are about 80-100 meters. Though there are some penal bunkers and the greens aren't all that easy to hit.
But the holes are about a foot in diameter. It's like putting into a bucket.
I hit a few shots on it, and while I thought it might be a confidence booster to your game at first, expecting to hit shots in from everywhere, it actually has an opposite effect. You begin to realize how many of your 20-footers and chips don't even come close to going in.
When you miss a putt when the hole is super-sized, what chance do you have tomorrow when you're out on the big boy's course?
But it's still good fun, and something I've never seen in the World of Golf. Has anyone else been to a resort that has giant golf holes?
