KUALA LUMPUR – Feb. 3, 2005 – Japan's Kiyoshi Miyazato, winner of the season-opening Okinawa Open last December, heads the Asian Tour Order of Merit with US$193,423. Korea's Charlie Wi, Jeev Milkha Singh of India and Scott Barr of Australia are a distant second with US$52,385 after two legs of the 2005 Asian Tour season.

Korean Mo Joong-kyung, who finished equal 12th in Singapore, is fifth on the merit list with US$30,548 while Filipino Angelo Que, who broke through last season for his maiden professional win at the Carlsberg Masters Vietnam, cruised to seventh place after a tied 18th outing.

Upcoming Chinese star Liang Wen-chong has moved into the top-10 after a superb showing in the recent Caltex Masters presented by Carlsberg, Singapore 2005. Liang, tipped to emulate the accomplishments of compatriot Zhang Lian-wei, finished tied fifth in Singapore on Sunday to earn US$29,133 and surged into sixth place on the latest money ranking.

Last season's Asian Tour number one Thongchai Jaidee missed the halfway cut at the Caltex Masters and is presently not ranked on the Order of Merit. The former paratrooper will get his chance to put some money on the board when he defends his title at the US$1.21 million Carlsberg Malaysian Open, jointly sanctioned with the European Tour, at Saujana Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur from February 17-20.
