Trick Shot Master, Johncke joins Lance Armstrong in the Fight Against Cancer

JUPITER, FL. – Feb. 1, 2005 – Peter Johncke, the famous Trick Shot Master, has joined six-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong in the fight against cancer by enlisting in the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s Peloton Project. The Peloton Project, started in 1998 by cyclists in support of Lance Armstrong, is the Foundation’s grassroots fundraising and outreach initiative that brings together a diverse group of volunteers dedicated to helping people with cancer live strong.

Peloton members from across the country, including people touched by cancer, cyclists and volunteers, raise awareness and funds in their communities to help the LAF support people affected by cancer through advocacy, research, education and public health programs.

Peter has pledged to donate a percentage of his proceeds to the Lance Armstrong Foundation as a member of the Peloton Project. In 2004, Peloton Project members raised more than $5.6 million.

In the fall of 1993, Peter was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. This was a life changing experience. Peter recovered and developed a new appreciation and perspective for life and Golf. He wanted to share his love and passion for golf with others.

Over ten years have passed and Peter has performed all over the world including countries such as Sweden, Denmark, England, Russia, Mexico, USA, France, Spain, Belgium, Croatia and Nigeria. Peter has also been featured on TV networks including CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX networks and The Golf Channel.

Publications worldwide have written about him, Golf Digest, Bogie magazine, USA Today, Svensk Golf, Fore Florida, Providence Journal, Boston Globe, Golf Digest Sweden, just to name a few.

Peter’s goal is to be the best trick Shot entertainer in the world; he is constantly working on new tricks and unique skills. Aside from entertaining Peter is an accomplished player with professional wins and merits on the European circuit and various USA tours.
Peter decided to support LAF because he feels that Lance Armstrong is a true inspiration to all, not only for his achievements, but also for his determination. Peter feels very strongly about supporting LAF because he had the same cancer that Lance Armstrong had and feels that LAF can help cancer patients/survivors and their families with many of the issues they face.

In efforts to raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Peter is giving any event that hires him the option to issue a check for a percentage of his fee directly to LAF (which will need to include his member # 200262360). In return, LAF will issue a receipt to the remitter allowing for a tax write off.

Lance Armstrong’s story inspires many of the 10 million Americans living with cancer. When Lance was diagnosed with testicular cancer at age 25, he was given less than a 40 percent chance to live. Despite the great uncertainty about his future, he declared himself a cancer survivor from the moment of his diagnosis.

He educated himself about his disease, beat cancer and went on to win six consecutive Tour de France victories. Through his experience, he realized that people need real support to deal with the physical, emotional and practical issues they face in the battle with cancer. He formed the Lance Armstrong Foundation to help people get the resources they need to live strong.
