National Golf Foundation announces that rounds were up in April

JUPITER, Fla. -- Rounds of golf played in the U.S. were up 2.5% in April 2008 vs. April 2007 on a same-store basis. April performance was actually slightly better than the numbers would indicate because there was one less weekend play day this April vs. last.

Rounds had been down 3.5% through March but, given that the month of April represents a relatively higher volume of rounds (nearly 10% of annual volume), the year-to-date figure through April rose to -0.9%.
