P3ProSwing to help you take your play to the next level

Jan. 31, 2005 – Playing golf can be a pricey proposition and improving the way one plays can push costs to stratospheric heights, but now through the efforts of advanced technology and effective instruction made simple, the costs have been put in reach and brought into the realm of possibility.

The P3ProSwing is an innovative, low-cost PC based swing analyzer and golf simulator. The P3ProSwing is the latest entry into the impact analysis space. This type of analysis is used by teaching professionals and clubfitters alike. Existing systems have been integrated into teaching and clubfitting programs, but at a price point that is 10 times greater than the P3ProSwing. To further differentiate from the competition, the P3ProSwing software has been designed with best-in-class graphics to enhance visualization of the impact zone and to provide a platform for accurate golf simulation.

The support of high-end graphics allows the P3ProSwing to also enter the golf simulation space. When paired with the impact projection screen, the P3ProSwing is a platform that provides a golf simulation experience on par with systems, which cost tens of thousands of dollars and will require a larger footprint for installation.

Sports Vision Technologies™ the leader in applying technology to improving sports performance is the designer and manufacturer of P3ProSwing. The company was created by entrepreneur Leslie B. Otten. Mr. Otten is Vice Chairman of the Boston Red Sox and former Chairman of the Board of American Skiing Company.

Mr. Otten began using technology to improve sports performance in the ski industry. He has used advanced technology to accelerate the learning of tens of thousands of skiers and snowboarders. A driving force behind the adoption of the new parabolic ski, he sponsored the development of innovative new skis and snowboards specifically designed for learning to ski and ride. His advanced Guarantee to Learn Method and Perfect Turn Discovery Centers revolutionized how the industry taught skiing.

In addition to baseball and skiing Mr. Otten has a passion for golf. He knew he could improve individual performance in golf by applying the advanced technology utilized in the P3ProSwing. To develop the P3ProSwing Mr. Otten put together a passionate team of golfers, golf pro's, scientists and engineers. Their mission was to create an affordable home golfing system for practice and play that would dramatically increase individual performance. After 2 years of development and product testing they created the P3ProSwing.

“The P3ProSwing is another of those overnight sensations that took over 3 years to come to fruition,” says Otten. He adds, “I guarantee that the P3ProSwing will help golfers improve their game and do so affordably.”

P3ProSwing counts both passionate golfers and working professionals among its customers. The system is used by a growing number of pros and clubfitters. The basic P3ProSwing hardware and software package retails for $579. The company recently introduced a new projection screen, which allows home golfers and shops to create a full-sized virtual hitting bay, for around $3000.

2004 marked the first full year of production for the P3ProSwing, which is engineered and manufactured in the United States. The first of P3ProSwing’s pending patents has been approved, with additional patent approvals expected in 2005. Sales growth of the product included hundreds of direct customers and a positive showing with international distribution partners. Retail partners also took to the product, with major chains Golf Etc. and Golfsmith signing on to further bolster industry adoption of the product.

The “impact zone” is considered the most important component of the golf game. With club head speed over 80 MPH at impact, it is virtually impossible for the naked eye to see the alignment of the club face or even the angle of the swing plane through the impact point. Traditionally, golf professionals will rely on their knowledge of body mechanics and ball flight to estimate what is happening at impact.

However, the effects on the ball flight that are a result of the interaction of swing path and face angle at impact are very complex. Without accurate measurement of the club mechanics at impact, it may not be possible to know what piece of the golf swing needs to be improved.

The P3ProSwing Golf Simulator and Golf Swing Analyzer will have golfers hitting the ball longer and with greater accuracy. The P3ProSwing provides an incredibly accurate, completely objective, totally scientific analysis of each swing. Because it lets you know exactly what happens each time you hit the ball, you can make corrections quickly and easily.

The P3ProSwing utilizes a 9" by 14", extremely durable, high tech sensing platform that connects to your PC. It deploys arrays of infrared light from 65 emitters and receptors to precisely measure club head motion before, during and after impact with the ball. No swing analyzer or golf simulator provides better swing statistics and real swing analysis with every shot.

Golfers can tee up or hit iron shots right off the sensing platform, allowing use of every club in the bag. The P3ProSwing golf simulator and golf swing analyzer is great for woods, irons and putting. Use any type of golf ball or no ball at all. Just place the reflective tape on the bottom of the club and the P3ProSwing does the rest.

For the virtual golf experience, the P3ProSwing™ allows up to four golfers to simulate play on the exciting Highlands National golf course. It is a mountain course with water hazards and extensive sand traps that will delight everyone. The Highlands National golf course is a 7,393 yard, 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course with 4 tee boxes for each hole. The state of the art graphics are astounding. You can fly over the course and follow the ball in flight. You can even see an instant replay of your shot. It's like playing a real course. The computer gives you great graphics. You can practice with a group of friends or compete against yourself from anywhere on the course using your own golf clubs.

•Hit with any golf club in the bag
•Follow shots as they fly over the course
•Get instant feedback as to distance and accuracy
•Have your swing analyzed in 12 different ways!
•Compete in a real competition.
•Practice as many shots as you want from anywhere on the golf course using your own golf clubs
