Ocean Edge Resort & Club opens Nicklaus Design Golf Course

BREWSTER, Mass. -- Ocean Edge Resort & Club on Cape Cod
announces the grand opening of its new $8.5 million Nicklaus Design
Golf Course. The total redesign of the former Ocean Edge golf course
has remodeled and reshaped all greens and holes, with the most
significant changes being increased length, better playability and
more challenges on the course. The greens are now customized to
Unites States Golf Association specifications.

"We are now a more challenging course, but Ocean Edge will still be
fun and enjoyable for novices as well as accomplished golfers" said
Michael Medeiros, head golf professional at Ocean Edge Resort & Club
on Cape Cod. "The new golf course is strategically accurate for all
levels of play."

The Ocean Edge Nicklaus Design course is now one of Cape Cod's few
private fairways, available for play by Ocean Edge Club Members and
hotel guests. Golf and sport memberships are available for the avid
golfer and sports aficionado. Members and guests will enjoy access to
all recreational and social privileges at the Cape Cod resort.

"We are already seeing the benefits of being Cape Cod's only Nicklaus
Design course," said Ocean Edge General Manager Robert J. Newman. "We
have sold 255 of 300 available golf memberships. It's obvious our
Club Members recognize the value of the Nicklaus name and understand
the value of membership here will only grow over time."

As part of the multi-million dollar golf project at Ocean Edge, the
Linx Restaurant and Clubhouse have undergone substantial renovations,
featuring a members-only lounge and expanded locker room facilities.
Also, this summer, Ocean Edge will offer additional function space for
member and other events within their new Linx Pavilion, a 2,500
square-foot venue with views of the 18th hole.

For those duffers not quite at Tiger's level, Ocean Edge Resort & Club
on Cape Cod offers golf clinics and lessons available through the Linx
Golf Shop with the resort's own team of PGA professionals, including
junior clinics for children ages 6 through 17.

The Nicklaus Design Group recognizes Ocean Edge Resort & Club on Cape
Cod's unique setting as an asset to the reconstruction. "Ocean Edge
is blessed with a great natural landscape: mature trees, rolling
topography and the right elevation changes to create a parkland
setting," said Chris Rule, design associate of the Nicklaus Design
Group. "In the redesign, we've maximized those features while
modernizing the course. New changes include the pure bent grass,
increased length overall by about 300 yards and more strategic value
with bunkering and sand traps."

The Nicklaus Design Golf Course is only one part of an $18.5 million
expansion at Ocean Edge comprised of 7,500 square feet of meeting
space throughout the property, including the new Bayside Ballroom and
renovations to the historic Mansion interior.
