Action Television launches national television series

AVON, Colorado – Jan. 27, 2005 – Action Television has announced another complete season of Golf Life Television as the series enters its 6th season in 2005. Golf Life is currently running 10 new episodes from January - April. Additionally, the producers are currently selling a summer series of shows slated to begin in May of 2005.

The show’s success has been attributed to the entertaining way the course features are presented along with the informative tip segments. Executive Producer Michael Billingsley states, “The show has a style and character of its own. Unlike many other shows that have come and gone, Golf Life keeps growing in popularity. It’s our quality and content that gets us great airtimes and additional households each year. Plus we fill a golf void for those that don’t get the Golf Channel, but watch other sports networks like Fox.”

The show travels around the US looking for unique and entertaining aspects to the golf lifestyle. Each episode includes a course feature that highlights how the locations fit into an individuals personal Golf Life. Billingsley added “we shoot 20 shows a year, so finding these types of courses takes time. The exposure we give to a development or resort is very unique, so we are looking for the right golf properties to work with.” The show producers are consistently looking for dynamic products and places with interesting stories to tell.

Golf Life has developed several new segments that were added directly due to viewer comments. “Our email reflects that viewers want more tips and information to make their games better,” says Billingsley. In response, the producers have introduced a new segment called “Secrets of Champions”. These segments feature Dr. George Carlo of the Golf Life Institute, who works with players on the Golden Bear Tour in Florida. Segments delve into the mental and physical aspects of preparation and practice. In addition, Golf Life offers tips from well-known personalities from Chuck Cook to Craig Stadler.

This season brings the addition of a new co-host to the show, Jay Golden. Jay joins our existing host Erica Webster, as the two split duties based on geographic location. Jay is a longtime PGA member and accomplished teacher who is the coach of the number one player on the Canadian Tour. Additionally Golden has been a golf entertainer and trick shot artist for many years. Billingsley said of Golden, “he is fun and because of his teaching background he really does a great job of explaining shots throughout the show.”

Golf Life is currently airing in prime time in over 60 million homes on Regional Sports Networks including Fox Sports Net, Comcast Sports Net and independents like Sunshine Network. In addition, Golf Life has developed a very unique web video channel on the internet at www.golflife.net. People with broadband web connections can view course features, tips, health and fitness segments and product features at their own leisure.
