George Peper, former editor of Golf magazine and author of 17 golf books, received the Donald Ross Award from the American Society of Golf Course Architects recently at its annual meeting in St. Andrews.
ASGCA presents the Donald Ross Award annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the game of golf and golf course architecture.
In his acceptance speech, Peper encouraged ASGCA members to consider the simple and sustainable way in which links golf works, as in St. Andrews, and to design layouts that cost less to build and maintain.
