The Irish Golf Show slated for Citywest Hotel and Golf Resort

Ireland has been promised a quality golf exhibition for a number of years. In a country that hosts the most prestigious tournaments, produces international stars and has such an active network of clubs, competitions and societies it stands to reason that a professional event organiser would plan a new format for a Golf Show in Ireland.

Gerard Larkin, Managing Director of Pinnacle Golf Events, runs both The Welsh Golf Show and The South East Golf Show, both showcasing golf in it’s true environment … at major golf courses. He and his team are now bringing this experience home to run The Irish Golf Show (24th-25th May 2008) at Citywest Hotel and Golf Resort in Dublin.

Gerard explained that “Most exhibitions are only one-step up from a golf sale and cetred around a main retailer off-loading the usual equipment and end of season clothing. Visitors normally pay to go to characterless exhibition hall expecting a bargain but leave without the sense of what golf is really about. The Irish Golf Show will present golf suppliers, associations, free tuition and other golf related services in the setting they are meant to be in. What’s more, the visitor gets a rare opportunity to experience the unique environment of a prestige golf resort and all of its facilities.”

Unlike previous shows in Ireland, visitors will be treated to far more than the usual brands found in high street stores or on-line retailers. Suppliers world wide are confirming their involvement guaranteeing that visitors will see something new to test, try and compare. As a sneak preview you will see Irelands own Caddy-Motion and Golf-Swing-Pro plus California’s Feel Wedges, Australia’s Kakadu golf gloves, England’s new i-motioncaddys buggy, South Africa’s Dead on Putter plus the amazing Snake Eyes irons which are renowned for their technology and accuracy.

That is not to say that you won’t find a healthy representation of your favourite quality brands, particularly in the fashionable and practical side of golf clothing. Making a debut will be the new, Irish based golf store; Golfwear Choices. The company promises an extensive selection of established makes such as Glenmuir, Greg Norman Collection and Lyle & Scott. Those looking for something contemporary and new will revel in the latest fashions from Woodworm, Dressed To A Tee and Froghair. PA Sports will also be on hand with the Think Pink Collection, the Bionic Glove, PeakVision Eye Wear and the all important all weather gear from Firethorn.

Not all of The Show is about parting with euros; there are also many inclusive activities which will analyse your game, teach new techniques and entertain you, your family and friends. Fore Golf are appearing for the first time at a golf show with their 42’ custom fit lorry normally reserved for the Pros. Their specialists approach to hand building clubs means all visitors to The Show have the opportunity to wonder at computer based launch monitoring and walk away with details on how to improve their shot ! They will also advise you on how to get the most from a new set of Nike, Cobra, Mizuno or Taylor Made clubs or specify your own bespoke custom set of clubs. There is also an indoor putting and testing area being planned which will include some of Irelands best known putting gurus !

The Show organisers have also just announced that the official coaching partner for this years Show will be Dublin’s own Paul McLoughlin School of Golf. Paul and his team will be on hand to offer 3 different forms of tuition using the astounding Explanar System, V1 Analysis Software plus the more traditional one-on-one guidance from a PGA Pro. In addition, visitors are going to be able to undergo swing analysis by the revolutionary Swingzone motion analysis software which will allow continual re-play of an annotated clip of your shot ! Visitors will be able to have this translated into a permanent lesson which you can then run on your mobile phone, PDA or computer.

During the 2 day Event there will also be several demonstrations by Dean Davis, the Trick Shot Golfing Genius. Each of Deans shows will be free of charge to all visitors. For more information on Dean and all the other exhibitors then see the news section of The Irish Golf Show at www.pinnaclegolfing.com.

Advanced discounted tickets can be reserved on-line or by calling 0871 663 4864: further discounts also available for group bookings by Club or Society Secretaries. The Irish Golf Show truly offers a new perspective on attending a golf exhibition as Citywest has easy access from the N7 outside of Dublin, with 1,000 parking spaces, several bars, restaurants and a purpose built conference suite.

The Irish Golf Show promises to deliver the beginning of a legacy for the future of all golfers in Ireland.
