PGA Professional Mahlon Dow named as a Most Admired Operator by Golf, Inc.

BELLE MEAD, N.J. -- Golf, Inc. magazine selected Mahlon Dow, manager and head professional at Mattawang Golf Club, as one of the world’s “Most Admired Operators” and announced this significant accolade in the April issue. For the fourth consecutive year, Golf, Inc. extols 20 operators who have demonstrated the ability to grow rounds, increase revenue, and boost membership while facing economic and other challenges.

This year, for the first time the magazine expanded its operator selections to outside the United States to reflect golf’s global nature. Dow specifically was chosen for his innovative and successful junior programs, as well as his efforts in launching women’s and adult/child leagues. “The semi-private club has some of the most active junior, women’s and beginners programs in the state,” wrote Golf, Inc. “Dow also oversaw a recent course and clubhouse remodeling that has increased play more than 10 percent since completion last year.”

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by such an elite magazine,” says Dow, a PGA member since 1986. “This is one of the true highlights from my long time love of the game. I appreciate the Mattawang ownership allowing me to implement these programs, some of which were untested in the golf business.
