The fourth annual Neighborhoods of World Golf Village 5K run is scheduled for Saturday, June 7.
The event includes a one-mile fun run for kids, a bounce house, clowns/face painting and live reggae from King Eddie & Pili Pili. Proceeds will benefit Community Alliance Funding Education (CAFÉ), a private foundation for public education in northwest St. Johns County.
Area businesses are donating prizes to the event,including an an $800 World Golf Village golf package, a weekend stay at Laterra Resort & Spa, a two-night/three-day stay at the World Golf Village Renaissance Resort and tickets to the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater.
Race participants will get free chiropractic adjustments and massages from The Village Chiropractic Center. Murray Bros. Caddyshack will contribute 100 children’s lunch tickets for the fun runners’ bags and Bagelicious will supply complimentary bagels at the end of the race.
The race begins at 8 a.m. near Murray Bros. Caddyshack and will wind throughout World Golf Village. First place overall winners in the men and women categories will be awarded $100 and custom plaques will be awarded to first place master finishers for men and women and to the top three finishers for men and women in the following age groups: 10 and under; 11-13; 14-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; and 75 and over.
Entry fees are $17 (until May 24), $20 (May 25-31) and $25 on race day. The one-mile fun run, which begins at 9 a.m., has a $6 registration fee through May 24 and $10 thereafter. If more than four family members from the same household sign up, each additional child’s registration is free.
