Forbes Magazine honors TravelGolf.com with “Best of the Web” award

FLAGSTAFF AZ. – Jan. 26, 2005 – For the fifth straight year, Forbes Magazine has honored TravelGolf.com with its coveted “Best of the Web” award in the highly competitive sports and travel category.

Increasing readership to over 2 million golfers a month, TravelGolf.com now publishes 40 online regional and national online golf publications. Among the top TravelGolf.com publications are MyrtlebeachGolf.com, ScotlandGolf.com, LasVegasGolf.com, GolfArizona.com, GolfFlorida.com and GolfCalifornia.com.

Forbes lauded the growing network for its strong and vibrant content. Not one to rest on its laurels, TravelGolf.com has added heavy weight editorial staffers to its lineup including National Editor Tim McDonald as well as West Coast Bureau Chief Chris Baldwin. McDonald boasts past Associated Press and Wall Street Journal background.

TravelGolf.com is the only golf publication network to have won the Forbes award five times. "It is an honor to win this award so many times, what with so many dot-com's out there competing for advertising dollars and readership," Lewis said. "But to be honest, the research, development and improvements we've made over the past year warrant this recognition. We are committed to strong editorial. It’s the editorial that propels our readership.”

Over the past year, Google has named TravelGolf.com a content partner, including TravelGolf.com headlines in its “Google Alerts”. The readership increases has propelled TravelGolf.com tee time and package partners to garner over 500 tee time and package requests per day.
