Jan. 24, 2005 – Mitchell Golf Equipment Company, Dayton, Ohio, announced the debut of its Studio Fit Putters at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show. An oversized mallet and two blade models are available.
Unique to this line is the number of lengths offered. The Studio Fit Putters are available in ½” increments from 33” to 35” and 1” increments from 41” to 45” in right- and left-hand. Also unique is the putter balance point. Head weights vary from 330 grams to 350 grams allowing for the different lengths to have the same feel and balance point. Each putter is capable of being custom fitted to length, loft, and lie at the time of purchase.
The Brass Cup Mallet is milled from a solid one-piece 6061 aluminum block, combining a unique alignment system with a rearward center of gravity to promote a true roll and a high moment of inertia. A face insert is milled from soft 360 grade brass, mated to the putter head and milled a second time to provide the flattest putting face possible. Standard specifications are 4° of loft and 71° lie angle with a face-balanced double bend shaft.
A key element in the design of the Brass Cup is a milled alignment cavity in the crown of the putter. This milled cavity is designed to promote consistent ball position in relation to putter face at address. The cavity also features a series of sight lines to ensure accurate aiming. Alignment is further enhanced through the brass insert in the face of the putter. The Thru-Face Insert (TFI) highlights the sound and feel of the putter due to its design extending completely through the face of the putter. Mitchell Brass Cup putters are available in a choice of black or clear anodized finishes with a suggested retail price of $229.00, which includes an embroidered putter cover.
Two blade models are offered with a choice of an offset hosel or center shaft. The OS Blade offers an offset hosel with the traditional heel-toe weighting. For those who prefer a center shaft putter, the CS Blade is available with similar heel-toe weighting. The putter faces are double milled which ensures the face is flat to within .001” to ensure a true roll. Both models are 100% milled from a solid block of soft carbon steel and finished in a tour-preferred satin nickel finish. The OS Blade hosel is milled as part of the head and not welded on. This ensures the feel transmitted to the player’s hands is true and consistent with every putt. Standard specifications are 4° of loft and 71° lie angle. Retail price for the OS Blade is $229.00 and the CS Blade $199.00, which include embroidered putter covers.
