VICTORIA, Texas -- Eidolon Golf - The Short Game Company - has launched its completely renovated Website: www.bestwedge.com.
A centerpiece of the new Website is the comprehensive “About Wedges” section that provides definitive information on all aspects of wedges, from what is “bounce,” to why some wedges spin better than others, the proper shafts for wedges, and how to choose the right lofts of wedges for your game.
“We’ve spent the past three years really honing in on the short game experience,” said EIDOLON President Terry Koehler. “We heard from hundreds of golfers with real questions about wedges and scoring. This section of the new website isn’t about our own products at all, but rather a way to answer questions we know the majority of golfers have. It will give players of all skill levels the knowledge they need to help improve their short game. And once they improve their short game, their overall game will undoubtedly get better.
“In the end, that’s EIDOLON’S commitment. We want to improve every player’s game. And we know we can do that beginning with the short game.”
In addition to the centerpiece “About Wedges” section, visitors to the new EIDOLON Golf Website can learn about EIDOLON Golf’s patented V-SOLE technology that combines high bounce and low bounce advantages into one wedge, visit Koehler’s popular blog, sign up for the EIDOLON newsletter and order EIDOLON wedges and other EIDOLON products including EIDOLON’S SCoR Grip and SCoR Method Book.
Koehler, a former director of marketing at the Ben Hogan Company and co-founder of Reid Lockhart Golf, founded EIDOLON Golf in 2003 and introduced the EIDOLON Wedges with V-SOLE Technology in 2004. Since then the company has steadily grown to become the greatest proponent for custom wedges and a highly respected brand wedge marketplace.
EIDOLON wedges are available to golfers worldwide through a network of Certified WedgeFitters and from the company’s new Website, which is now www.bestwedge.com.
Koehler is a favorite speaker at meetings of custom club fitters and clubmakers and conducts seminars on the short game for various groups such as the Executive Women’s Golf Association. He is also a regular guest on golf radio broadcasts such as “Making The Turn” hosted by Peter Kessler on XM Satellite Radio.
EIDOLON patented V-SOLE wedges provide shot making versatility not found in other wedges. With EIDOLON V-SOLE Technology, the leading edge of the wedge’s sole — about one-quarter of an inch — has an aggressive bounce (15 degrees on the 48-degree pitching wedge, 18 degrees on the 52-degree gap wedge, 30 degrees on the 56-degree wedge, and 25 degrees on the 60-degree wedge) that ensures that the leading edge never digs into the turf. The primary rear portion of the sole features minimal bounce — three degrees on the 48* and 52* models, seven degrees on the 56 mid-wedge and six degrees on the 60 lob wedge — for improved playability from tight lies.
In addition to its patented V-SOLE design, EIDOLON painstakingly CNC-mills the face and every individual groove in each wedge, a revolutionary extra step that is a cut above most mass-produced wedges. This precision milling achieves nearly 100 percent of the groove specifications allowed by the USGA, as compared with as low as 60 to 70 percent of allowed groove volume common to standard production wedges. EIDOLON wedges are fitted with the industry’s premium wedge shaft, the Rifle Spinner, in both steel and graphite, and feature the company’s own SCoR grip system for improved shotmaking consistency. All EIDOLON products may be seen at www.bestwedge.com.
