GolfLogix GPS-8 quickly gaining acclaim from golfers worldwide

GolfLogix, Inc., the company that pioneered handheld GPS in the golf industry, is getting acclaim for its new GPS-8 from business and recreational golf travelers. GolfLogix GPS-8 which was launched March 1, 2008 provides distances to the center front and back of greens as well as major hazards of golf courses worldwide. Many courses do not have distance markers or clear lines of sight. Other elements such as the weather or terrain can make determining distances even more difficult. Utilizing GPS technology by Garmin, a leader in the industry, GolfLogix displays distances continually through satellite links, giving golfers immediate information without having to be familiar with a course.

“I travel a great deal in my business and play courses around the world,” said Peter Kostis, a top instructor and CBS Sports Broadcaster. “It is great to have GolfLogix wherever I go. Many times I am playing with others that know the course and I hate to be at a disadvantage. GolfLogix gives me the distances to the greens and hazards no matter where I am, so it levels the playing field.”

GolfLogix GPS-8 allows golfers to load up to 20 courses on the unit at one time. Golfers on vacation or business travel can easily preload a set of courses prior to their trip or do so from a laptop on route. When the unit is powered on, it will recognize the course being played. “One of the great benefits of GolfLogix is that it is so easy. There are no buttons to push. You just look at the distance and take your shot. When you are with other golfers who know the course well, you don’t miss a beat,” added Kostis. “You aren’t fumbling with a complicated device or hunting around for markers. GolfLogix is the perfect golf travel companion.”

GolfLogix GPS-8 began shipping March 2008 and retails for $299.95 which includes one FREE golf course download. Unlimited worldwide course maps can be downloaded for a low subscription fee of $29.95 annually. The system provides golfers with distance access to the center, back and front of the green and multiple hazards. Additional features in the system include the ability to capture the distance of the last shot and auto-advance to the next hole.

GolfLogix is compatible on many computer platforms including Windows, XP, Vista and Mac and it remains the only system on the market that is 100% waterproof and comes with an unprecedented 12-month warranty. GolfLogix is available through major sports and golf retailers or can be purchased directly at www.GolfGPS.com.

Founded in May 1999, GolfLogix is a privately-held company based in Scottsdale, Arizona, dedicated to offering consumers with the most advanced GPS solutions designed to improve individual performance.
