Tyson Karcher named superintendent at Mattawang Golf Club

BELLE MEAD, N.J. -- Tyson Karcher was recently hired as the new superintendent for Mattawang Golf Club. “I value the on going improvement goals that have been set here and I plan to further enhance the quality of golf at Mattawang by utilizing the tools gained from my successful experiences,” said Karcher.

Previously, Karcher was the assistant superintendent for five years at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, New Jersey, where he prepared the course to host two HSBC Women’s World Match Play tournaments. Prior to Hamilton Farm, Karcher was the assistant superintendent at the semi-private club, The Fairways of North Canton in Ohio. After graduating with an Associates of Applied Science degree from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, Karcher began his career in a professional internship at the Westfield Companies Country Club, Medina, Ohio, where he gained extensive experience at the 36-hole course.

With the 2008 Mattawang golfing season underway and course improvements continuing, Karcher hopes to provide a great golf experience for every player. “My intentions are to implement practices for daily high quality playing conditions, turf health and consistent maintenance to one of the finest golf courses in the area,” said Karcher. “Tyson will bring some wonderful energy to the property, his attention to detail and his expertise will be enjoyable for all our golfers” said manager and head golf professional Mahlon Dow.
