The just announced Southwest Ireland Charity Golf Tour will hit the links July 6th, 2008 through July 13th, 2008 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Light Foundation, a charitable foundation focused on raising awareness and funds for disadvantaged youth.
The Tour provides each golfer with 5 rounds at different championship courses in Ireland accompanied by some of New England's the greatest names in sports. Among the celebrities already committed to hit the links are New England Patriot's Matt Light and several of his Teammates and Football Legends Steve DeOssie and Fred Smerlas.
This special golf excursion runs 6 days and 5 nights and departs from Boston direct to Shannon, Ireland. The all inclusive cost per person is $4500 per golfer and $3750 for non-golfers.
The golfing highlight of the Tour includes a round at the revered Ballybunion Course. Ballybunion is considered by some the best seaside links course in the world and playing it is on many golfers dream wish lists alongside St. Andrews and Pebble Beach.
The cost includes virtually everything involved in the trip: airfare, ALL greens fees, transfers, transportation, accommodations at the luxury Clarion Hotel in County Cork and Sneem Hotel County Kerry, special cocktail parties with Bushmills Irish Whiskey, gala dinners during the trip, a traditional full Irish breakfast every day and prizes for players at every course.Besides Ballybunion, other courses to be played are The Waterville Course, The Dooks Links, Tralee and Skellig Bay. and spectacular sightseeing for non golfers inculding , but not limited to , historic and beautiful Cork City , Killarney and the Ring of Kerry.
