Macro Golf Co. introduces revolutionary new putter and grip

Jan. 24, 2005 – The unique grip and putter designs which were played as prototypes in over 20 PGA and Champions Tour events during the 2004 season are now available to golfers everywhere. Macro Golf Co., a Virginia company, has announced that production has begun on the Macro putter.

Introduced to professionals in 2004, the innovative and ergonomically efficient putter and grip have also been the subject of intense interest in the wider golf community. Dr. Richard Ferris, the inventor of the Macro Putter Grip and founder of Macro Golf stated that the "Macro Putter goes beyond tradition to focus on both the point of contact between the golfer and the club and the point of impact between the club and the ball."

The patented reducing-oval cross-section of the Macro grip is based upon anatomical principles, which govern the relationship between the position of the hands and flexibility of the wrists and the muscles of the forearm. "The grip is revolutionary because it greatly enhances two anatomical factors crucial for successful putting: the elimination of wrist breakdown, which keeps the putter face square to the target throughout the stroke, and the relaxation of the muscles of the forearms, wrists and hands, which produces a smooth continuous putting movement," explained Dr. Ferris. The Macro could be considered the first authentic "no yips putter".

The CNC milled polymer and steel putter head options provide a widened sweet spot both vertically and horizontally. Both are center-shafted with a 76-degree lie angle and compliment the uniform forward shaft offset of the grip to keep the golfer's eye directly over the ball. Bill Ward, the founder of Softspikes captured the end result perfectly when he said, "Immediately after I became familiar with and began using the Macro Putter two things happened: A lot fewer three putt greens, and a lot more low rounds"

The Macro putter is currently appearing in commercial advertising spots on The Golf Channel and ESPN and is available on The Golf Warehouse (www.tgw.com) and through the Macro Golf website (www.macrogolf.com). Considering that prototypes have already been played on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour and the very positive public reaction thus far, the design team at Macro Golf is very enthusiastic about the prospects of Macro comparing favorably with putting products from the acknowledged leaders in the field, Calloway Golf Co. (ELY) and Titlist Golf Co., a subsidiary of Fortune Bands (FO).
