HiPPO Golf introduces innovative ITX² Carbon Irons

Vista, CA. – Jan. 21, 2005 – HiPPO Golf Company USA has announced that it has added a new line of ITX² Carbon Irons to complement its new ITX² Driver and Fairway Woods, and Utility Clubs. The new irons will begin shipping February 1, 2005.

“Our innovative design team, under the direction of Ian Woosnam, has done it again,” exclaimed David Dixon, CEO of HiPPO Golf Company, Inc. “These new irons are like nothing you’ve ever seen before. They’re designed with the same integrated technology we’ve incorporated into our new line of ITX² Drivers, Fairway Woods and Utility Clubs and they perform exceptionally well.”

The HiPPO ITX² Carbon Irons are designed with a three-piece construction consisting of a 17-4 stainless steel face, an inner cavity of a carbon composite, and a 17-4 stainless steel back section. The inner cavity of the back section is cut as close as possible to the outer rim, allowing the carbon center section to fit snugly inside. This center section is virtually the same size as the faceplate. The face is welded to the back cavity with the carbon sitting inside.

The result of this three-piece construction is a soft feeling iron that has a face with a 100% sweet spot that is incredibly forgiving on off-center hits. There is no loss of distance when miss hit. The new irons also feature a unique wide sole design, which places as much weight below the ball as possible. The low center of gravity creates a high launch angle to make shots go higher and further.

The ITX² Carbon Irons feature state-of-the-art W928 High Modulus graphite shafts that are lightweight, have low torque, and are designed specifically for the ITX² heads. The new irons also feature a HiPPO Ultra Soft wrap grip.

The ITX² Carbon Irons are available in 3-PW in right-handed models with firm and regular flex shafts. The MSRP for the set of 3-PW irons is $349 with graphite shafts and $299 with steel shafts.

HiPPO’s full line of products, including its new technology line of ITX² 460cc Driver, Fairway Woods, Utility Clubs and Irons, will be on display at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show in booth #3510 within the equipment section of the Orange County Convention Center.

Show attendees will also have an opportunity to try the new Hippo products at the Golf Demo Day on Wednesday, January 26, from 10:00a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winder Garden, FL. Buyers, PGA Professionals and members of the media attending the show will be able to test Hippo clubs on the facilities' open driving range at tee #5.
